Full Height Shutters (Traditional)

 Full height shutters are sometimes known as 'Traditional Shutters' when selected with 32mm louvres.  

When used with the larger louvres ( 63.5mm,88.9mm and 114mm) They are often referred to as 'Colonial Shutters' or 'Plantation Shutters'.

 When the panel height exceeds 1,800mm* a mid or 'intermediate rail' is used to strengthen and stop the panels from twisting. When an mid rail is incorporated in the panel the louvres above and below the mid rail can be operated independently, giving greater flexibility to lighting and privacy as can be seen in the picture on the right.

Shutter are practical all year round and provide much needed visual security and privacy from the outside, protecting you from prying eyes without removing precious light. During summer, as we have learned from the professionals in warmer climates across the globe, there is no better way to provide protection against the sun's glare, keeping out the heat while still letting in light and air. At the other end of the spectrum as winter closes in, they hold in warmth by providing an extra layer of insulation.
